About the Event
#SingForYourParks is an annual 8 week-long performing arts initiative spearheaded by LYPMumbai and directed by Tristan K.
Over 8 weeks, a group of children (8+) and adults will meet and learn to harness their collective voices to perform in two free, family-friendly gigs in Mumbai's parks.
LYPMumbai believes that citizen involvement in the creation, activation and maintenance of Public Open Spaces is the backbone of a healthy society and democracy. We also strongly believe in the need to encourage the creative arts and harness its power to advocate for change.
#SingForYourParks is community-building through singing and encourages local residents to enjoy parks in a new manner. There's no dirth of artistic talent in Mumbai, but with performance space becoming increasingly scarce, this initiative hopes to provide a partial solution by encouraging the growth of good quality arts performances in public open spaces.
