About the Event
#SingForYourParks is an annual 6 week-long performing arts initiative spearheaded by LYPMumbai and directed by Tristan K. It is community-building through singing together and encourages local residents to enjoy parks in a new manner. There's no dearth of artistic talent in Mumbai, but with performance space becoming increasingly scarce, this initiative hopes to provide a partial solution by encouraging the growth of good quality arts performances in public open spaces.
LYPMumbai believes that citizen involvement in the creation, activation and maintenance of Public Open Spaces is the backbone of a healthy society and democracy. We also strongly believe in the need to encourage the creative arts and harness its power to advocate for change.
Cuckoo Club has been hosting our choir on Saturday mornings for the last few weeks. The choir will perform FREE concerts in two public spaces on 14+15 December, 2019.
On Saturday 23 November, 2019, along with the usual choir rehearsals, we'll also be co-hosting a special Uke-jam - a ukulele jam session with @atukexperience. So bring your ukuleles, join this fun community of changemakers and strum along for a great cause!
